Aurora

Aurora is a contemporary public sculpture that transforms the historic park into an interactive, immersive environment. The installation uses light and movement as both material and metaphor, creating a dynamic, ever-evolving composition. The color-changing tiles, activated by the wind and human interaction, blur the boundaries between sculpture and performance, making the piece feel alive and responsive. The undulating argyle pattern, inspired by the park’s terrazzo ground covering, references its modernist design while reinterpreting it through a fluid, kinetic form. Towering over 20 feet at its highest point, Aurora offers a physical and visual presence that invites viewers to engage with it from multiple perspectives—moving through, beneath, and around its shifting hues. By combining architectural scale with sensory interaction, Aurora creates a communal experience, turning a static space into a living, breathing artwork driven by presence and participation.
